What is a Weed Candy?

The use of cannabis leaves or more potent weed strains to make edibles is a famous, less conspicuous alternative to smoking weed. They resemble traditional confectionaries that we usually indulge ourselves with. Cannabis nowadays can be in the form of baked items, sweets, drinks, or anything you can imagine you might need on a typical day. The right set of tools and knowledge on safe weed content doses has resulted in a variety of cannabis-infused goods that have hit the market and even became best-sellers, particularly to the youth. Up to this point, more and more recipes have been created, all of which are reported to be as delectable and pleasurable as smoking weed.

Why is it a Better Option?

Compared to the conventional methods of consuming weeds, weed candies also possess certain benefits that are beyond just satisfying a sweet tooth. These advantages include:

Getting a high amount of antioxidants. Some weed candies also contain flavonoids. These flavonoids are said to have potent antioxidants that can be beneficial for the body in so many ways. Studies also show that some elements of cannabis can be used to effectively ease chronic pain, anxiety, sadness, nausea, and many other conditions that just needs a bit of calming and relaxation.

Offers a healthier and much more regulated way to consume weeds. Aside from being able to monitor intakes by keeping track of weed candy wrappers, the fact that users won’t need to inhale or exhale smoke from the burning cannabis buds can help prevent users avoid certain health risks that can be acquired by smoking weed.

Very easy and fun to make. Enthusiasts may also be able to create their own cannabis candy at home by following just a few simple steps. All they will ever need is a good set of kitchen tools, creativity, and some fun, and you’re set to make your personalized cannabis-infused candy.

What Will You Need?

Making hard weed candy requires a preparation that is quite different from making traditional CBD/THC-free treats. Before starting you may want to consider the following:

You’re Preferred Cannabis Strain

Select a cannabis strain that is according to the terpenes and cannabinoids that you prefer. You should make sure that what you choose is what works best for you and the occasion you’ll be preparing it for since you will be infusing these components into your cannabis candy. Although weeds may impact people differently, it is important to always opt for a high-quality cannabis strain, and this is where we come in at BC Bud Depot. We deliver only the best weed seeds for cannabis lovers who want to grow cannabis plants for a variety of purposes including weed smoking or weed candy-making.

Make a Decarboxylated Cannabis

To decarboxylate cannabis, you need to heat the plant for the purpose of activating its acidic cannabinoids, such as THCA and CBDA, into their respective primary components, THC, and CBD. The decarboxylation process is required if you are starting with cannabis flower buds, kief, or hash. It is also crucial to take note of the boiling point of THC which is 314ºF. Heating your cannabis excessively and for an extended period may reduce the weed’s potency, which you may not want to happen if you’re aiming for the same impact as smoking the weed.

Prepare your Canna-Oil or Cannabutter

The next thing to prepare is the base of your THC candy recipe which is your cannabutter and canna-oil. All you need to do is to mix your previously decarboxylated cannabis or cannabis extract with an adequate amount of butter or oil.
Lastly, you may want to secure a baking tray/mold and some candy thermometer.

Step 4. Remove the mixture from the heat when it reaches about 305F.
Step 5. Add food coloring, flavor extract, and cannabis tincture. Pour it into your candy mold or baking sheet after stirring it up.
Step 6. Before removing the cannabis candy from the mold, let it cool and firm.
Step 7. Savor your canna candies!

Step 1. A cup of strawberries (or a fruit of your choice) and water should be blended until smooth.
Step 2. Strain through a sieve.
Step 3. Add the honey and lemon juice while the heat is on medium, then turn the heat off.
Step 4. Add the gelatin and cannabis tincture when the mixture is still hot (but off the fire) and stir them well.
Step 5. Mold the mixture into a silicone gummy bear tray and place it in the refrigerator or freezer for at least an hour to allow the gelatin to solidify.
Step 6. Try adding more gelatin if in any case that the gummies are unable to maintain their shape.

Step 2. Dissolve corn syrup in a medium pot and combine 1/2 cup water and corn syrup and wait until the mixture boils.
Step 3. Turn heat to low, and allow to simmer for a couple of minutes.
